NEW DELHI (AA) – At least six people were killed on Friday in a fire at a cracker factory in southern India.
Ten people suffered burns in the fire that gutted the factory near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu state, according to IBNLive news channel.
Reports suggest that crackers exploded suddenly Friday afternoon when employees at the factory were at work.
Crackers are in high demand as Diwali, a Hindu festival of light, is round the corner.
